How fair is it when a Savate fighter cannot use his shoes in a fight? These competitions would make sense if every martial athlete could use all the techniques of his style. Savate means shoes, but the fighter has no shoes at all. This is not a race, this is a scam!

For those wondering what the hell is going on: Savate uses a "point system", similar to Karate (indeed Karate is thought to have adopted their system from Savate). This is why they break off after each brief tussle. At 0:40 the crowd clap because that kick to the chest scored a point.
